This Refund Policy explains our policies regarding refunds for tournament entry fees paid through MySetMatch.

1. Tournament Entry Fee Refunds

When you register for a paid tournament, you may be eligible for a full refund if you withdraw your registration before the tournament's refund deadline.

Refund Eligibility
  • Before Refund Deadline: Full refund (100% of entry fee)
  • After Refund Deadline: No refund
The refund deadline is set by the tournament organizer and is typically 24-72 hours before the tournament start time. You can view the refund deadline on the tournament details page.

2. How to Request a Refund

Self-Service Withdrawal

You can withdraw from a tournament and request a refund by:

  1. Logging into your MySetMatch account
  2. Going to the tournament details page
  3. Clicking the "Withdraw Registration" button
  4. Confirming your withdrawal

If you withdraw before the refund deadline, your refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method.

3. Refund Processing Time

Standard Timeline
  • Refund Initiated: Within 24 hours of withdrawal approval
  • Credit/Debit Card: 5-10 business days
  • Bank Account: 3-7 business days
  • Payment Wallet: 1-3 business days

Processing time depends on your financial institution. Refunds are issued to the original payment method used during registration.

Refunds cannot be issued to a different payment method than the one used for the original transaction.

4. Tournament Cancellation by Organizer

Full Refund Guarantee

If a tournament is cancelled by the organizer or MySetMatch, all registered participants will receive a full refund (100%) of their entry fee, regardless of when the cancellation occurs.

Automatic Processing
  • Refunds for cancelled tournaments are processed automatically
  • You will receive an email notification when the refund is initiated
  • No action is required from you

5. Tournament Rescheduling

If a tournament is rescheduled to a different date:

  • Your registration remains valid for the new date
  • You may withdraw and receive a full refund if you cannot attend the new date
  • The refund deadline may be extended to allow withdrawals due to rescheduling

6. No-Show and Disqualification

No-Show Policy

If you register for a tournament but fail to attend without withdrawing before the refund deadline:

  • No refund will be issued
  • Your entry fee is forfeited
  • Repeated no-shows may result in account restrictions
Disqualification

If you are disqualified from a tournament due to rule violations or misconduct:

  • No refund will be issued
  • Your entry fee is forfeited
  • You may face additional penalties including account suspension

7. Exceptional Circumstances

Medical Emergencies

If you cannot attend a tournament due to a documented medical emergency, we may grant a refund even after the refund deadline. You must:

  • Contact support@mysetmatch.com within 48 hours of the tournament start
  • Provide documentation (doctor's note, hospital records, etc.)
  • Submit your refund request for review
Force Majeure

In cases of natural disasters, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond your control, we will review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

8. Partial Refunds

Partial refunds are not available. Refunds are issued as:

  • Full Refund (100%): If you withdraw before the refund deadline or the tournament is cancelled
  • No Refund (0%): If you withdraw after the refund deadline, fail to attend, or are disqualified
Payment processing fees charged by Stripe (approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) are not refundable. Your refund will be the full entry fee amount minus these processing fees.

9. Refund Disputes

Chargeback Warning
Important: Initiating a chargeback with your payment provider without first contacting us may result in immediate account suspension. Please allow us to resolve the issue before filing a chargeback.

10. Free Tournaments

This refund policy applies only to paid tournaments with entry fees. Free tournaments do not involve refunds, but you may still withdraw your registration at any time before the tournament starts.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. The policy in effect at the time of your registration applies to your transaction.
